SWOMM 2013 – Turismo e accessibilità sostenibile nella zona di montagna

La nona edizione dello SWOMM, Scientific Workshop on Mountain Mobility and Transport, si è tenuto l’11 dicembre a Vienna (AT), ed è stato promosso dal Ministero dell’Ambiente italiano e dalla Presidenza italiana della Convenzione delle Alpi, ed organizzato con il supporto dell’Università di Camerino, di Eurac Research, dell’Agenzia per l’Ambiente Austriaca e dell’hosting partner UNEP.

L’evento è stato organizzato nell’ambito di Access2Mountain, progetto cofinanziato dal Fondo Europeo di Sviluppo Regionale attraverso il programma “South-East Europe”. Con un partenariato di dodici partner provenienti da Austria, Italia, Polonia, Serbia, Slovacchia, Romania, Ucraina e Ungheria, Access2Mountain mira a promuovere l’ecoturismo sostenibile e a garantire un’efficace connettività e accessibilità alle regioni sensibili delle Alpi e dei Carpazi.

Ispirandosi ai temi del progetto Access2Mountain, il SWOMM 2013 intende concentrarsi sul ruolo e la relazione tra accessibilità sostenibile e turismo sostenibile, come mezzo per aumentare l’attrattività delle aree montane (in particolare quelle più isolate), migliorando la qualità della vita sia dei residenti che dei turisti, preservando l’habitat naturale e i beni culturali.
